The Challenge in Wrapping This Box Truck
This box truck sat for over a year and a half in the sun, which meant the adhesives were baking and tightening the old, worn vinyl. When the box truck sat in the sun that entire time, it was leaving behind layers of stubborn glue that was hardening over time. Because of this, we had to use 8 gallons of adhesive-removal chemicals to loosen the glue, which was just the first step of removing the box truck vinyl.
The Step-by-Step Process of Box Truck Vinyl Wrapping
Consultation:
Before we begin a box truck vinyl wrap, we have a consultation with the owner of the box truck. We have to make sure we fully understand the client’s specific needs, the current condition of the box truck, and if they want any custom designs displayed on the truck. During this consultation, we will have to measure the box truck and create digital designs before finally vinyl wrapping it.
Box Truck Vinyl Prep:
Before we can vinyl wrap the box truck, we have to remove any old vinyl or glue from it. The most time-consuming part of this Dodge box truck vinyl wrap was the process of removing old vinyl adhesive. Normally, a vinyl wrapping job consists of just cleaning the surface, sanding rough spots, and removing decals, but this job took many chemicals and workers to get rid of the years of baked-on adhesive.
Box Truck Vinyl Design:
Before we wrapped this box truck, we worked with the client to create a custom graphic. Once we agree on a design, we print it on high-quality 3M 2080 vinyl to ensure strong durability and an easy application for us. The better the quality of vinyl - the better outcome you’ll get and the easier it will be for us to wrap perfectly every time. Certified Install Wraps will only ever use high quality vinyl for every project, which is why commercial accounts trust in us for box truck vinyl wraps.
Dodge Box Truck Vinyl Wrap Result:
This tough box truck wrap resulted in a sleek, glossy black vinyl finish that they are now proud to drive around with. Once we got rid of the old 1-inch glue from past vinyl, we wrapped this box truck with 3M vinyl that turned this forgotten truck into a professional, sleek vehicle.
Wrapping a box truck is no small project, especially when there is years of old vinyl & adhesive baked onto it. Even if you have a truck that you feel is junk, we will transform it into a modern, sharp wrapped vehicle!
This was by far, the most challenging job, yet it taught us a lot. We are so proud of this vinyl wrapped box truck. We find so much pride in the fact that they now feel proud in driving their truck on the road. For box truck vinyl wrap in Charlotte, Huntersville, Mooresville, NC & Lake Norman
